Artist Profiles » Colleen Barbarich
 Colleen is a New Zealander born in Auckland. She has always had a great appreciation of art and all its forms. It fascinates her how so many artists can interpret a single object in so many different ways. The medium she has chosen in the past has been predominately pencil; this was ideal when her children were young. Mostly self taught Colleen loves to capture detail in her drawings especially with light and shadow. She has been commissioned to draw peoples’ homes and gardens.
Most recently she has been inspired to start painting with acrylics. The beach and coastal landscapes inspire subject matter with their textures and colours. She has received a good positive response over the last few years, which is extremely rewarding and inspiring for her.
She has successfully exhibited at the Royal Easter Show (2002) and has illustrated a children’s educational booklet.
