Artist Profiles » Bill MacCormick
Bill MacCormick (born 1942), lives in Rotorua. He studied art at Elam in the late 1950’s. He has since worked as an artist and graphic designer for the New Zealand Herald in the 1960s and New Zealand Governments National Publicity Studios in the early 70’s.
His first watercolour’s were in Tongariro National Park in the 1960’s. He was winner of various National Bank art awards in the 70’s.
Bill’s later paintings have included landscapes, cityscapes, interiors and portraits. A recurring theme has been of buildings in the landscape as a memory of those who have gone before us.
Bill’s original paintings are in private and corporate collections in New Zealand and overseas. Prints and cards published from his paintings have gone to many parts of the world.
